Breeding Policy
None of our planned breedings are set in stone until the day of conception. Things happen with rats that are beyond our control and sometimes one of the potential parents may begin to display a trait that makes them unbreedable, or a better qualified breeder rat may become available. We will make the best decisions that we can so that both we and you get the best ratlets possible.

We will also try to keep this site updated with our current plans and all that we are doing to advance our lines and rattery.

Planned Future Breedings
2012 Summer
Litter #13: SLKY Beaker x SLKY Breve
For Russian Blue Siamese Line
Reason/Goal for Breeding:
To improve our Siamese lines. Beaker is a strong boy with some very nice conformation. He has the laid back personality we've come to expect from our boys. His coloring is nice and his siamese shading is an improvement over what we've seen in the past. Likewise, Breve's colors and shading are and improvement so we should be getting more color on these siamese babies. All offspring should be Russian Blue point Siamese with a mix of standard and satin coats. Availablity will depend on litter size.

2012 Summer
Litter #14: SLKY Stein x BVR Harah
For Russian Blue Satin Line
Reason/Goal for Breeding:
To improve our Russian Blue line. I am super excited to see this litter. Stein is little but he has all the great things where they count. Harah is a young energetic girl with a sweet disposition and a lovely look. We should get some great Russian Blue Satins out of this pairing.

or 2013 Winter
Litter #15: SLKY Galumph x SLKY Sashay or BVR Alyss
For Color Mutation Test
Reason/Goal for Breeding:
To see if we have the color mutation in this line of rats

Long-term Plans for Self Line
Plans for the Russian Blue Satin Line

Currently we are analyzing our breeding stock for the next generation and testing for a possible color mutation in some of our rats. We should be really solidifying the Russian Blue Satin in our breeding stock this year so that we do not need to continue breeding them to our Siamese line. We'll be keeping at least one of the girls from Stein x Harah to breed to BVR Rydburg and one or more of their sons for future generations.

Plans for the Possible Color Mutation

We may be changing this line into either a Russian Silver line or changing it for a different color mutation. Plans will depend on what we colors we get out of the pairing between SLKY Galumph and Sashay or Alyss (who possible carry the color mutation).

Long-term Plans for Siamese Line
Plans for the Russian Blue Point Siamese Line

We will most likely be breeding one of Glencairn's girls to either SLKY Beaker based on lung health. We will then breed one of those girls back to one of Glencairn's boys, most likely SLKY Myagkiy Znak.

Plans for the Russian Silver Point Siamese Line

Right now, we are looking to BVR Adam Young at Moonlit Waters Rattery for a possible infusion of the Russian Silver genes into our lines. We'll await the results of his offspring. Once this line is stable we will infuse it into the Russian Blue Point Siamese line so that we only have the one Siamese line.
